Photography is an amazing creative outlet for the younger generation: it provides them with instant results while offering them a way to express themselves! It can help them focus and be more present in the moment. It’s a confidence builder: it encourages initiative, self reliance & independent thought. It can inspire an appreciation and respect for the natural world and provide an opportunity to slow down and relax while communicating ideas, thoughts and feelings.​

Typically, the ideal structure for a youths workshop looks a little like this:

Two sessions of two hours, with some time in between.
For the first session, we meet in a public library where we can touch base, get to know each other a little and I can determine their individuality and disposition. With the help of my Ipad, I’ll introduce a variety of creative knowledge and composition skills after which we will explore a few camera basics to help gain a better understanding of whatever camera/device they are using. I'll also introduce them to some editing basics using a free app. That being said, I can provide a camera at no extra cost! A PDF recap document is always included.
For our second session, it’s time to go on an adventure and put all of those new found skills into practice with my guidance and support. Chosen locations are always family friendly, safe and within cell service range. My go to’s are : Goldstream Park, Hatley Castle & Fisgard Lighthouse.
Structured a bit like a field trip, we’ll search for visual opportunities together and test out a few technical skills too. This part is always such a hit!
Currently, 2 sessions of 2 hours for individuals are on sale at only $200 (regularly $240).
