Exploring beautiful locations and practicing the Art of Observation, this recreational and educational activity has a fun adventurous field trip feel!

Kids document their discoveries through the practice of photography by following specific visual assignments inspired by essential notions of composition that are easy to grasp.

Children don't need a fancy camera or any photography skills, only an interest in taking pictures and exploring beautiful outdoor locations! A simple point and shoot device is sufficient.  Smartphones are a good option. Any camera will do!

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A CAMERA, I CAN HELP! JUST GET IN TOUCH.

Lessons are given verbally with an IPad for visual support, alongside simple assignment flashcards. Carefully structured, I alternate between lessons and assignment time with a pause for lunch in safe and family friendly locations.

Following each session, kids work on selecting their favourite images, and editing them if they choose to (I teach that too!).

Parents will then assist in uploading the photos to a shared online folder link I previously provide. At the beginning of each session, we revisit the photos, and I offer constructive feedback and advice on how to improve where needs be. Images are then published here in the Gallery.

This activity focuses on the creative mindset and artistic approach to photography, not technicalities. It is an opportunity for children to slow down, spend quality time outside and learn to be in the moment.

Photography teaches children self reliance and autonomy, it boosts self confidence, encourages initiative and curiosity. Photography is a satisfying activity at any age, but is particularly beneficial to children as it provides instant gratification and the opportunity to express themselves creatively.

A small group enables me to offer one on one guidance and instruction while catering to each child's individuality and needs.

The age requirement is a general guideline. I'm flexible on a case by case basis give a year or two!

I CAN OFFER THIS INITIATIVE IN SMALLER GROUPS AND/OR TO INDIVIDUAL CHILDREN OF VARIOUS AGES. CONTENT, SCHEDULES & LOCATIONS CAN BE CUSTOMIZED TO WORK FOR YOU.

MORE THAN HAPPY TO MEET WITH YOU IN PERSON!

" My two girls took this photography class and thoroughly enjoyed it. They learned many techniques and there was lots of time to practice what they learned. Loved the smaller classes so they had lots of personal time with the teacher. The different locations were perfect for each class. They also really enjoyed the weekly assignements and discussions to improve techniques. Would highly recomment this class. "
